Darrin Mechling
Assimilation Pastor
Darrin has served at First Baptist Church Mt. Juliet since August 2020 and in church ministry since 1988. He has a love for people, a passion for evangelism, and a desire to see the local church grow. At the age of 19, he accepted Christ at a Starlight Crusade in Del City, Oklahoma. He was called into ministry while attending Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and has served churches in Texas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Darrin has had the opportunity to preach, share the Gospel, and teach evangelism here in the States, Romania, Brazil, Montenegro, Guatemala, China, Thailand, and Israel.
He graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, AR, with a Bachelor of Arts and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX with a Masters of Arts in Religious Education. He and his wife, Carmela, have been married since 1989 and have been blessed with two adult children: Hannah and Hunter.

“A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows, Is God in His holy habitation.” Psalm 68:5
