Darrin has been a valued member of the ministry team at First Baptist Church Mt. Juliet since August 2020, bringing over 30 years of experience in church ministry. With a heart for people, a deep passion for evangelism, and a fervent desire to see the local church thrive, Darrin’s ministry is rooted in his personal calling and commitment to the Gospel.

At the age of 19, Darrin accepted Christ at a Starlight Crusade in Del City, Oklahoma, and soon felt a call to ministry while attending Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Over the years, he has served churches in Texas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, and has had the privilege of preaching, sharing the Gospel, and teaching evangelism not only in the U.S. but also in countries such as Romania, Brazil, Montenegro, Guatemala, China, Thailand, and Israel.

Darrin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, AR, and a Master of Arts in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. He and his wife, Carmela, have been married since 1989 and are blessed with two adult children, Hannah and Hunter.

Darrin’s favorite Bible promise is:

“A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows, Is God in His holy habitation.” – Psalm 68:5
