Christmas Meets us With Salvation

In this powerful Christmas message from Luke 2:8-18, we are reminded that Christmas is not just about celebration—it’s about salvation. The key thought: Christmas is about God saving sinners from their sin and meeting us in our greatest need.

We begin by looking at the recipients of the angelic announcement—shepherds, who were often overlooked by society, yet were the first to hear the news of Jesus' birth. The message of the announcement was one of hope and salvation: “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.” The angel’s message was clear: Christmas is about God’s plan to save mankind from sin and bring peace between God and His people.

Finally, we explore the blessings of the announcement, where the angel proclaims: "Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom His favor rests." Salvation brings two incredible blessings: joy—the great joy of knowing we are saved—and peace—the peace that comes from being reconciled to God. This Christmas, we celebrate not only the birth of Jesus but the salvation He brings to all who believe.

Join us as we reflect on the true meaning of Christmas—God meeting us in our greatest need with the gift of salvation.
